Scary Go Round playing cards are in progress. I'm working quite hard on the artwork, times 54, so it's going to be a while. Feel free to assist me with peppy feel-good messages. I could do one a day for 54 days, I suppose, but as it says on the right, I'm a man for the "big push".

Oh-Emm-Geeeeeee! Numerous Exclamations accented by a random number one somewhere in their midst!
Johnny Allison, you're the talented boy we're proud to have on the team. Sort of like River Phoenix in "Explorers" circa 1985.
Go John Go! I would have thought that Amy would be on the Queen of Hearts considering her effect on those of the opposite sex. I am fully aware, however, that you would know best!
This is very exciting! I've been hoping that sometime this Summer I'd be able to buy some of your new-content books and perhaps a Tshirt. Hopefully I can save up enough to buy this as well!
What a great idea!
Huzza! Scary-Go-Round playing cards! What could be more fun than a fist full of death pixies, devil bears, and sultry vixens!!!
why death pixies, devil bears, and sultry vixens engaged in a rousing round of go fish of course!
Looks like these will be a sight to behold, if the first is any indication. I'll basically have no ability to resist picking up a pack once they're available. Exclamation point!
Wow! Put me down for at least 2 sets. I predict a sell-out.
I would have thought Zombie Shelley, or possibly Natalie, for Queen of Spades.
Also, Eeeeeeeeeee! That is a sound of excitement.
Perfect for a game of Scabby Queen...
HUZZAH
OMG KRAKKAGAR HAS TO BE THE ACE OF SPADES.
I know I probably spelled his name all wrongzor.
You know the home I mean though. ALL OF YOU DO.
God no. Krakkagar as the Joker.
Amy's surname is Chilton? I did not know that! Is that a subtle Big Star reference? I hope so. The SGR playing cards will be purchased as soon as you set them up in your delightful online merchandise stand, Jon. Delightful!
If I mention something right here and now, does that count as me reserving one in the future? I hope so. Because I want a set. no two! No, Five! TEn! Sixteeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!
Seriously, just one, but I have a big family, so maybe I'll just get us all matching sets.
In fact, two. Then I can play games with two sets of deliciousness.
Brilliant, John. I will definitely buy a set or two.
Awesome!
Can you make the 5's normal though? Hard to keep score in euchre without proper 5's. And euchre is everything.
OMG i'm so hitting you up for at least 2 sets, i need a new deck of cards and an sgr set would be the coolest!
I have a tiny request - can the cards be made left-handed/ambidextrous? (That is, put pips in all four corners, not just the top right/bottom left). Those devil-children amongst us would be eternally grateful.
It's not something that will stop me from buying them, but it would be the icing on the cake.
Otherwise, they look awesome, and I can't wait to be laying down money for them.
While we're on requests, could you maybe do two versions of the set with different coloured rears? This makes life a happy place for those of us who throw our cards around in bridge and are then unable to work out whether a given card comes from the pack in action or the recently shuffled about to be dealt pack. Or indeed for those fools who like to play two pack patience games.
Otherwise this idea is a genius and I will be purchasing several of your packs for the purpose of outraging my grandmother over the bridge table.
One of these cards must feature Shelley in a Union Jack bikini. You know this to be true.
(put me down for 14 packs)
Excuse me, sir. You rock.
Can't wait to get a deck for myself. I'm not usually one for merch, but this is prime.
Sign me up for a deck, too.
While we're at 'impossible dreams', why not a Tichu deck? This just requires 4 "jokers" rather than 2, where the jokers are dog, one, phoenix, and dragon.
More realistically, a couple (or four) of blank cards included in the deck would let any of us who want to play "odd" games (or use special 5s, like Corwin wants) to roll our own, and allow the rest of us to practice some fan-art. =)
How nice that people are so excited, you have put a rocket of hot flame under the (previously slow moving)project. Requests for wilder features such as multiple back colours and extra jokers must be respectfully declined as just printing cards in the first place is going to cost me several "large" without such accoutrements. I am concentrating on doing the regular things as well as I can. Feel free to continue to suggest.
Oooh I see the creation of a Great Space Owl card came of some sort forming in my tiny brain.
Or perhaps the idea of someone more industrious than me creating a Great Space Owl card game.
Can't wait to add this to my collection of SGR goodness.
Flgrlwlfgledlsf (the sound of an idea forming)
Ready? Top. Frickin' Trumps.
If you're soliciting more suggestions then I should like to add to my previous [unreasonable] request that the cards be the nice plastic kind and not the horrible paper kind that neither shuffle nor slap on the table properly to indicate victory.
As of yet, I have not bought any SGR merchandise; I'm in college with not much money and it didn't seem practical. But playing cards? I need those. I will buy them when they're done. For sure. Your work is gorgeous.
Baited breathe and antsy-pantsy anticipation.
I wouldnt mind a Shelly union jack bikini card too.. or 3.
Only on the inter nets! Normally you come here and it's virtual tumbleweeds blowing through the abandoned frontier town of Blog, but mention playing cards, and some kind geek consumerist reaction kicks in. There's nowt so queer as folk, I s'pose...
To suggest that this pack of cards is going to be anything less than awesome would defy all logic. You would be insane if you tried to make that case.
Coolest thing on the planet, Mr. Allison.
mention playing cards, and some kind geek consumerist reaction kicks in
Nay, not consumerism, but art!
Art in a pocket-sized format, suitable for determining the exchange of currency and/or removal of clothing when used according to Hoyle's scientifically tested rules.
I also meant to mention that you should have a shirt-less Tim for those of us who enjoy his chest hair. I know I do. It's like a hawk...on a chest. Awesome.
I will pay $100 (or pounds) for those!
Today's comic led me by way of velour to spandex fetishism.
That has nothing to do with cards and no one probably wants to know these things but I thought I'd share. It's actually a pretty interesting entry if you give it a chance.
OMFG! That is such the cool. I don't usually buy merchandise just cause... I don't... lazy, I guess. But I've got a depressing Mau infatuation and am in desperate need of some new cards (mine are worn out from too much shuffling and are missing a few cards) and these would just be perfect!
Hey everybody. Props to the owner of this blog. But anyway, come to my blog site called "Chill spot/ Anime Craze". The link is: www.chillcraze.blogspot.com. I have cool anime pics.
