These are great! But definitely not as great as Bad Machinery. You will, I am sure, single-handedly reinvent Nancy Drew.
If you need to let the Shelley-steam release every once in a while, though, this is the best possible way to do it! I just love the idea of her digging through moldering papers in search of adventure. I sense mummies, perhaps also possessed tea-spirits lurking around dusty corners.
(But seriously, have I told you how much I love Bad Machinery yet? Because I had Serious Doubts and they have been scrubbed away quite thoroughly.)
Richard, you get a big prize for "snouts and cakes" (maybe from the Cheeky Chick) but you are now banned for "nouning" the adjective "wacky". It's a cruel world, I know.
I am glad I read both you and Miss Beaton, for she hath taught me of Robespierre and his way with the guillotine... and the candystripes. I quite agree, he should make more frightening wardrobe choices.
Hmmm Millicent Mumps, Millicent Mumps... and the FISHMAN FAMILY. Do you know there is a time of year that says Millicent Mumps and the Fishman Family better than any other and that is Christmas. Keep em PEELED. I plan on a riot of terrible things at Christmas for the Scary Go ROund faithful.
I would really like a "Destroy History" printed comic, a la Ghosts. Those halftone screens you've got there seem to indicate that's the way it's headed. I hope I'm right.

It's not giro day, but if you look outside you'll find a very nice man with a trolley full of snouts and cakes.
Also, I love these. Bad Machinery has a very interesting sedate tone and palette, but I do find myself missing the wacky.

But John, when are we to get Millicent Mumps and the Fishman Family? I have been waiting on this for months!
Even if I am not to get MM, it is nice to see Shelley. Still, I am putting all of my eggs in the Bad Machinery basket. More mystery please!
PS - verification word is "bedmi". I like you, sir, but not THAT much!

At first I read the tagline as "A lonely bone of common sense in a mad leg." It was a delightful image while it lasted.

Stern, but fair.
I like where this is going, but I think I like the look in purple better.
