Having gone native, I now go un-native... read on!
Today's apologies go to "Our" Stevens, Jeff Rowland, Kate Beaton, Ryan North, Carly Monardo and especially Chris Hastings.

John,
There is no more INS. Your Desmond look-alike would be reporting you to ICE or the Border Patrol.
I know you are striving for as much realism as possible here. Just doing my bit for you.
And there I was thinking this was a documentary... ;)
I think someone might still refer to them as the INS though, in the same way people still call the Russian secret police the KGB.
I'm going to assume Kate Beaton was visiting the USA in this comic. Otherwise I'm sure you would've had yourself say, "I shall travel to the USA and Canada."
;-)
The level of pedantry in some of these comments borders on the pathological. Also I think the sharp eyed among you will notice that Ryan North isn't actually the size of the BFG, Chris Hastings doesn't look like Mr Blobby and there's no such thing as MPLS Indie XPO. Also the world is not black and white but actually in colour hem hem.
LEARN TO ENJOY LIFE YOU LOVEABLE KOOKS
But Jeff Rowland does often sleep standing up, right? I'm sure that's true.
Ah, The Manchester Aeroport. Great memories of that place that actually exists.
good stuff. i needed a laugh today. thanks john.
America is gonna freedom the FUNK out of you, Johnny. I am making a pancake and steak itinerary.
I ADORE how you drew Ryan North. <3
MPLS = Minneapolis? Home town of Bob Mould and Prince? If there was to be an MPLS Indie Press Expo, it would no doubt be awesome.
oh, this makes me so happy
Here via Kate Beaton's link. Really enjoyed this!
I'm guessing MPLS Indie XPO is another name for SPX. MPLS must then stand for the XPO's location: Maryland's Posh Local Setting, a.k.a. Bethesda.
I was clearly promised a documentary, accurate in every pixel, a repository of historical fact for the ages
ha! Ryan North is really that tall!
man, I'm from Minneapolis and I got all excited because I might get to see all these guys at MPLS Indie XPO. Now I find out it doesn't even exist.... My world is crushed.
@ John A
No actually I thought all that was legit. You have never steered me wrong before!
Well, you know, if it has neckties it can't lose.
This is the best thing on the Internet! You WIN!
I second Kate's 'barn owl' suggestion.
John, it's true that there was no such thing as the MPLS Indie XPO... until you spoke it into being. I am in the business of making this sort of dream come true. Folks, do you demand a web/indie comic fest in Minneapolis? Email me please. I want to talk to you.
