For just a few seconds I thought that Lonelady lady was a plain ol' Patti Smith knockoff, but I was wrong! Some good stuff here. I have been well bad at music this year, myself.
I also meant to say that I always enjoy reading your Best Of music lists. Too shy and wilting to confront the wild world of muzak myself, each year I download every item on Mr. John Allison's list, listen to it all, say "yes" and "no" and "hm," purchase what I like, and delete the rest.
Hey, these are great and I haven't heard a single one! Nice to see the college kids again too.
Slightly off-topic, but there is an artist in the Netherlands named Esther de Groot, and she pretty much makes the kind of art I'd assume our Esther de Groot would make.

The statues make me think of icy soundscapes and gutteral droning...
it's good to see esther again! loving all the new characters, but it is good to see the old ones every once in a while.
Treats was my favourite album of the year, it certainly is fighting music.
I look forward to hearing what the girls think of that nice Kanye West.
