Crisis Centre #1 - Prologue

Blog #3, better for you, better for me

Today I unleash my new comic, Crisis Centre! It will follow a pretty regular schedule until the current crisis is averted, whereupon the series will end. Another episode tomorrow.

For what it's worth, I like Bad Machinery more with every day that passes. Every comic that comes out makes me like it a bit more :-P

It was fun seeing Jessica get taken down today while the nerdy boy is flirted with (though he doesn't even realize it). And Friday's comic with the potential of a new mystery investigation really Lit My Fire.

Can't wait to see more!

Thank you Matthew! It is a fun comc to write and draw so I hope other people will come round with time. It's a new thing, it's hard to like a new thing at first!

I keep coming back to Bad Machinery for my daily dose of SGR.

With as often as the cast changed focused, it doesn't really feel like a different comic to me at all.

Just, less Desmond. Poor helpless Desmond.

I was going to post a comment, but Matthew seems to have done it for me.

Aw Man, Buffy the animated series had the best puns ever. That one promo packed so many one liners into four minutes it was almost an actual script.

I was going to post a comment, so I did.

Bad Machinery is pretty rad and I'm glad to read it every day for free. It does seem to me like you're composing for print, rather than the web. I think that's a great idea, and I wonder if you've considered going to First Second or some other comics-shop type operation, rather than casting your pearls before us swine. You know?

I WOULD TOTALLY BUY IT

Izzat DESMOND FISHMAN in the background of today's installment? If so, can Millicent Mumps and the Fishman Family be far behind?

Hang on I think it is Desmond and he does have a couple of members of the Fishman Family along with.

I look forward to the imminent release of "Scary Go Round Presents: Bad Machinery, Starring Millicent Mumps".

1. I do not understand why you have a crown on. Is this a British thing (I thought that was only for Christmas and birthdays?), or is it because you are King of Comics?

2. Amy's apple totebag = BLING BLING PRODUCT TIE-IN You know you want to do it.

I love the new comic direction. I also love the colors. And that middle panel on the bottome row, with Amie and Ryan? Sweet!

Also, I love being confused and confounded by some of the references that I just don't grok, what with living in California and all... Good job! It's like reading a comic that didn't just appear out of the Internet's least common denominator.

Cheers!

Colin: I only really have time for one project as each page takes about 4+ hours of intense work. So whatever I do has to be my "main" thing. That was part of the reason I chose to do something a little more "difficult" on the web rather than in my spare time - I don't really have that much spare time!

I don't like Bad Machinery one bit. Bah.

Seriously though, I'm anxiously awaiting every Monday - Thursday morning's installment of Bad Machinery. Liking the characters, liking the style. And there is enough continuity to keep it familiar.
