Kate Beaton is a fine person and, like the late Tommy Vance, "a walking continent of common sense". She tells me to be sensible and stop being nutty and I tell her to make the top half of her website a big link to mine and then the phone line goes dead. She was the big believer in Bad Machinery right from the earliest planning stages so, you see, I have to plough on.

So Crisis... I mean
Victory Centre will return next week. Thank you everyone for your supportive and helpful comments this week. They have focused my mind and made me feel better about life on this old circular dirt-world.

Kate Beaton is the best character you've ever created. She is much to sensible to be bitten by zombies or shot by biker mobs. There need to be more strong, sensible, Canadian women in comics.
You're likely joking, but I can assure you Kate Beaton is indeed real. She signed & doodled in a copy of her book for me at TCAF.
Incidently, it would be hilarious if Ms. Beaton did a "Mystery Solving Teens" parody of Bad Machinery.
No, no, Kate Beaton isn't fictional, we live in the same city, but John might be. I'm on to you Mr. Fictional Brit!
I've got an idea. I will access each and every issue of BM from work and from home. I encourage all fans to do the same. This way, the traffic will double!
What, you've been doing it all along?... :P
Yes. Yes. The strange after-effects of anaesthesia are what you needed. Perhaps you could become an ether addict?
I'm still slightly unsure of whether Kate Beaton is real, I need more proof. Her comics are funny, almost...suspiciously funny.
I've been reading your comics since Bobbins and just wanted to say I have whore'd out your comics like a crazy person over the years. I love your comics and so do all the people I've made read it, we believe in you :D
Ms Beaton is elusive but I assure you, she is real. You will find her wherever a memorial statue has been collecting pigeon "dirt" for over a century. She will be looking at the statue and she will seem pleased.
Thanks for your support Pam! I am feeling better about the future, I think things will be ok!
For what it's worth, Mr. John Allison, I've been following Bad Machinery as closely as I was following Scary Go Round before the switch. Which was pretty closely! I enjoy how you write the little school-people, and I'm glad to have as much of Ryan and Amy as you're willing to share. It's developing quite nicely thus far, in my opinion!
