Dorothy

I'm working on a new canvas print for the Thought Bubble show in Leeds next month. The colours below are just testers, but the lines are probably final. Maybe I'll give it a bit more sky. Toto is definitely going to be a square dog.

If you like my Dorothies, be sure to comment as it helps me decide whether to do a run of 10 or 20.

Square dog is awesome. Can they breed those yet?

Love it. Think pumpkin scarecrow needs the most love though, he should be deserving of thick lines like the left corn is and maybe some strong reds.

Square dog is square, and cool.

As amazing as it is in this early stage, I get can't get past how damn great those corn stalks look.

I love it! The pumpkin face, and Dorothy's romper and bangles, and square dog are all awesome.

is there going to be a Dorthy for Scarecrown, Tin Man, & Lion? I hope so.

Awesome!
Though I have a feeling I may prefer the Esther art you did for the ebays.

But that's only because Esther reminds me of my own misspent, gothic youth.

Will this just be for sale at the show, or will you put it online as well?

I want Dorothy's shirt.

And square dog.

Chelle: I might only sell 1 or 2 at the show, so the rest will be on the site afterwards.

Oof, that is one farmer's daughter that ought to have been locked away! Meow!

Uh, so, anyways, I don't want to be a brat, but they're known more for growing wheat than corn in Dorothy's home state of Kansas. But hey, it's all a fantasy, right?

Thats cute, I'd buy it.

I feel this drawing conflates Scarecrow and Jack Pumpkinhead, two entirely different characters. Jack wasn't introduced until the second book, The Marvelous Land of Oz, in which Dorothy does not appear. But I am an old-school Oz geek (yes really).

I like it a lot as a piece of art! I especially like the cheery crows and Doroshelley's ruby slippers. (And they're not original to the books, either.)

This image is, as the kids say, "made of win".
