Last Night I Enjoyed...

...Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle. It reminded me of Dave Allen's old programmes in a way. Here it is on iPlayer anyway for my friends in the UK.

"it's been a long time coming, he hasn't had a tv show on in 10 years."

Making a show as bad as Fist of Fun will do that to your career.

I hope Stewart Lee got permission before he used that joke about someone having "written more books than he has read". Otherwise he would look like a bit of a hypocrite.

Ray Gun, cheer up! You don't have to watch it!

I didn't mean to sound so negative. Imagine me saying what I posted while shaking my head and sucking air through my teeth then smiling in a conciliatory gesture.

I actually enjoyed the show on Monday night. Except for that bit when he went on and on about rappers just to set up a weak and obvious punchline.

There I go being negative again. I did actually enjoy the show. What's wrong with me?

I used to read the notbbc forums where people who enjoyed comedy enough to post on a forum all about it just tore everything apart in the most joyless fashion. Here you are among friends, I freely acknowledge that it takes all sorts and almost nothing is good all the way through.

You didn't like Fist of Fun, Ray?

You must have liked This Morning With Richard Not Judy!
