Great white hope for the great white north

I will not be writing on the blog for the next week as I will be preparing for a trip to Canada the week after. I have to make sure that you are richly entertained in my absence, which means hard graft in the drawing area.

I'm excited about visiting Toronto (and points beyond), but of course there are fears too. Hopefully the diagram below will illustrate what is on my mind.

I hope you have a great time visiting Toronto! Any specific event you are planning on partaking in, or is the trip just a fun getaway kind of deal?

I think that this has shirt potential.

You've left out a sea of poutain and a large amount of Korean eateries, depending on where you're going.

If you are going to Toronto, I recommend Queen Street West if you have time to spare. It's a lovely area with lots of shops and things to look at in the way of ... things. (Music, entertainment, whathaveyou.)

Canada will be inordinately pleased to have you visit! The moose are friendly ad in the employ of the national tourism bureau, and there are hardly any wendigoes in the urban areas so you'll be fine. Be warned that the airport at Toronto is a bit of an armpit and the drive from the airport into town is quite disheartening, but it does improve once you're in the city -- though I'd promote Montréal and Vancouver as nicer destinations overall. (Oops, I better stop before I foment civil war.)

wow are you doing some kind of signing SGR kind of thing? That would be super! Speaking as a toronto type person that would be super.

Brian: I will be living for pleasure alone, it is not a work trip. But if TCAF is taking place this year and funds allow, I will make a professional grip-n-grin trip later in 2009.

The Colonies welcome you, Mr. Allison. I trust you will find our country a happy medium between your own and our terrifying cousin to the south. Enjoy your trip, and check out Sneaky Dee's while you're in town.

Eeee! Eeeee! That puts you a short 18-20 hour drive from my house! It's almost like having you over for tea!

Um, I do hope that doesn't come across as creepy. What I mean to say is: on behalf of Canada, welcome and we hope you enjoy your visit!

What, were our freedom eagles not glorious enough for you? Is that how this is going to be, Mr. Allison?

John Allison, how can I stalk you while you are in Toronto? By which I mean, I am also in Toronto, can I go somewhere to hear you speak/read or should I just invite you over for tea?

I so want a "What is Canada?" shirt! Must include some mapleleafy red and white goodness for the full effect.

Beware the cat food killer!

Welcome to Canada, we hope you enjoy your stay, please remember to get your free welcome hug from any available mountie walking by...

While you're in Canada, you should definitely come to the west coast. We have no snow and Stephen harper doesn't even know we exsist lol.

I would also like to plug the East Coast, i.e. further East than Montreal, i.e. the Maritimes. For we are awesome.

Or you can go to the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau and see the whole of the country on one floor!

TCAF is definitely taking place this year, so I hope you'll be back! I'll have my glad hand ready.

Mr. John Allison, you should be a hair stylist. If I had a lot of money I would pay you to design a wicked-cute hairstyle for me.

Why does it seem that all of my posts lately have regarded hair? I'm not that insipid, I promise. I just really like hair.

May I share my excitement that Nosferatu is now a real T-shirt? It's very cool and has a certain Edward Goreyness about it.

I am also itching to see what colour Amy's fringe is now.
