Double blog day

ARE YOU A MAN WHO WANTS TO SAVE EARTH BUT DOES NOT WANT TO USE SHOPPING BAGS THAT SAY "LADYTIMES.COM" OR "CANDLE CITY" ON THEM?

I have designed two tote bags for a man. I want to design more tote bags because it is over for the plastic bag (GET USED TO IT). I want to be the new king of totes. Anyway if you are man and you like these designs or even a lady just get on those comments and let me know, I'll phone the depot and get them to start laying pipe.

The "DESTROY" one is GRATE - I don't suppose you can get them made in that lovely hessian "memories of the helter skelter" style that Tesco et al do can you? They're LOVELY.

John, these are your pawns on the way to becoming king of the totes. Love your work

Those are incredibly lovely and I know a number of man-folk for whom this would be terribly appropriate.

Please make them a reality, that your reign over the tote industry may begin!

DESTROY!

Would buy x 3.

I'd buy the destroy one in a New York second. Much faster than New York minute.

Oh man! SHOPUTRON, PLEASE.

Yes. I love them both. The "DESTROY" tote more so.

I'd like ten of each please!

Yes! I require a matching set of the "DESTROY" ones, one in blue and one in purple, for myself and my BFF.

I love them, both as a manly man and as a totebag junkie.

I like them both, I prefer Shoputron more though :)

Definitely want the "DESTROY" one!

Yes, please! I need to counteract the girliness my wife brings to our shopping bag collection.

I am not a man but I completely love the first one!

A++ would purchase in order to save the world - especially if they were bigger, flat-bottomed ones wot I could use for a small amount of groceries!

Gosh... these are a bit brilliant

I loved the "only shopping" t-shirt design and will definitely buy the tote-bag. Although I might cut holes in it, for my arms and head.

Love DESTROY!

I am a lady who would gladly pause in her pillaging and razing of Other Places to purchase both of your sturdy grocery bags if they're stain-resistant (can't have the blood of my enemies getting on the onions)

Holy hell yes! I am a woman and it would make *me* feel manly.

John said...

I like em both, but I think I preferred the first one when it was EXPLODE rather than DESTROY. (back when you posted the first sketch)

Nonetheless I want both! (provided they are constructed from 100% recycled... AWESOME)

I wish I were a man just so I could have the first one. In fact, sometimes I feel like a man when shopping for food because sometimes my grocery muscles are just so large they take up aisles at a time. Fine they don't. I'm actually a short petite thing, but you get the idea about my being a food shopping brute!

But yes, I would be a loyal subject to You if You were the KING OF TOTES!

Destroy! Destroy!

Alon said...

yep. I'd definitely get "DESTROY".

That destroy bag is the best thing ever. It has made my day.

Ha ha ha! DESTROY

Sweet as a puppy mate, sweet as a kicked in the face puppy. Please do make more.

Shoputron to the max!!!!

I haven't laughed that hard since google ruined everything. Which I also bought.

wolfhaus said...

Loooove the first design.

Colin said...

Holy cow, I would proudly carry either or both!

ReadingFiction said...

My only concern is if I buy one, how do I carry this purchase I have made? there is a serious risk of recursive bag buying.

But, seriously, you much make these otherwise the internet will be furious.

MJP said...

OH yes. Quite yes. Purchase, purchase, purchase.

mustbepatient said...

"Destroy" is excellent. I second the request that the bags be the flat-bottomed variety.

Mike said...

Technically, if there is nothing left to destroy, there would be nothing left to buy, so shopping would be impossible. Ah, but it is precisely this level of paradoxical dissonance that makes the design such a brilliant challenge!

I like them both. Alas, we have plenty of totes, received as free swag at various science conventions, so they aren't even that girly. No demand for manly totes here.

Catherine said...

yeah, that destroy tote is brilliant! i would love to see that one available for purchase.

fingersandtoes said...

They are fantastic. There is definitely a lack of tote bags for men, so anything that gets them to stop using plastic bags is great!

I am a man, and I destroy thing every day. I want people to know this when I am not destroying things.

I just wish you'd post out of the UK or another EU country. I hate paying more than the item cost in custom fees (DKK 155 ~ GBP 18.75) and VAT, so I rarely order stuff mailed from the US.

Woo! Just received my four bags for me and some equally badass shopping/destroying friends. The package slipped under customs' great fiery eye just nicely.

Just one thing: What small bags they are! I see now that the shop displays some measurements in inches to warn a person, but seriously, inches? Is that supposed to mean something to me? You should write the truth: the bags are tiny-ish, which is not very manly unless you fill them with stainless steel ball bearings (which is all I shop for anyway, so no problem for me personally.)
