Back to California where it's warm

The Brighton show was not fantastic. Some really nice people came by, including stalwart supporter Laura Kelsey (who bought a big ticket item), but mostly the show was ill-attended and far far too pricy to get into. Rather than write a show report, I drew a picture that sums up life on my table. My table was opposite the drugged-out hippie bargain book stall and the infernal hated dancing monkey.

In the picture The Duchess is putting a brave face on it but I am not.

Some watercolours still available etc!

The dancing creatures were indeed frustrating. Sorry for not having picked up a watercolour. I was sorely tempted, but at that point my cash stockpile was already receding into a state of not-very-much-cash. But I thought Skellington was great, and I'm loving Heavy Metal Hearts and Flowers, if it's any consolation. It really feels like a novella, and shows range that you can pull this sort of thing off as well as the continuing series format. Well, I think so. But then, what the heck do I know?

Hey! If you were miffed, it didn't show. In fact, the word I'd use to describe you would possibly be "chipper", you were such a happy chappy.

I kinda agree about the monkey; I hired him for a few minutes, and while some of me was going "eee, there's a guy dancing like a monkey for MY benefit! This is soo COOOL!" there was another part of me that felt that I was the monkey, and that he was laughing at me from behind that mask the whole time. So I dunno. The net effect is a grimy, mucky one.

I would have popped along if only Brighton wasn't hundreds of miles away and I a poor student.
