I am still contemplating the artistic process but people have written some very kind and supportive things. I'll just do whatever I feel like and let my freak flag fly, things should be okay.
I redrew an old Bobbins strip from 2001 just for practice, I post it here purely for curiosity's sake.

Hmmmmmmm.
Tis nice. But tis not yet a vector-killer. The colouring is very nicely handled though!
Mike, can you imagine how hard that would be and how long it would take to get right? I'll give you a clue: both answers include the word "very".
the design is more mature if the Bobbins era' one, but the inking is kinda raw. maybe just a too big pen. that said it is cool al ever
You cut me, marco. You CUT me.
Marco it IS a big pen but I am kind of still looking for a comfortable pen, I have a great fountain pen but it won't put ink on a lot of paper properly. I tried brushes but I didn't like the look.
I've used just about every kind of pen, from insane technical pens that clogged all the time, to ballpoints, to Sharpies, to graphical pens with nibs that wore down really quickly, but i really like the line you get from a hard felt-tip. I think it would be less brutal if I could draw a little bit bigger. It's experimental, I'm trying to find something that works.
mmm then try to use the same pen on a 150% bigger layout, it should be very ok. and as for brushes, me too i'm kinda heavy with them, i need to use >10*15 inches layout to be comfortable with them
Love it! I love the old vector style too but this looks more fun!
