He knows woe

This was going to be a new tshirt but now I think it's a bit too weird. Or R Stevens said it was too weird. Do you think it's too weird?

Maybe it is too weird. I just thought it was fun. Here's another that I like but I don't know if anyone would actually buy:

My opinion: "Skellingtons are my Friends now" YES. I would buy that t-shirt, for sure.

Not so sure about the Wookiee one though. Not that it's too weird; just that it maybe has a bit too much going on in it. If that makes any sense.

I feel weird having made the first comment here because I am not a natural leader, but I guess there's a first time for everything.

I would rather go for wookie than skellingtons.

I would likely buy Skellingtons, but not another Wookiee tee. As bee said, it has a bit too much going on. And I don't want people staring at my chest for longer than necessary. But I love the colour of Skellingtons!

Make the skellingtons happen please!

The Wookie one strikes me as very cool, and one of those shirts that will have people asking "What the hell?" when they see you wearing it. Whether or not it'd sell is another matter, though...

I think there are enough folks who'd buy the Skellingtons one to make that one happen, though.

I'd buy the skeleton one, no doubt. It looks great. I'm not sure the wookie one would look as good as on a t-shirt. Maybe you could do the wookie as a poster?

Roman said...

I really like the Wookiee drawing, but I just can't see it on a t-shirt.

Full color poster? Now that might work.

Is that an umlaut in skellingtons? Fabulous!

gosh i love wookiees. and i'm a lucky girl, 'cause i live in chicago, where star wars was shown outdoors in the park on a huge screen last night.

but all of that aside, i prefer the skellingtons for a shirt design. i would definitely buy the skellingtons shirt.

the wookiee has got such fine lines - emilyruth's right. too much chest-staring. maybe for a tea towel, though?

I agree with the Wookie-too-much going-on line of thought, but would love to see another Wookie shirt. Why not just have he and the Eagle standing together sobbing on eachother's shoulders?

Okay. Bad.

But maybe something more simple?

Too Weird?? no such thing... maybe a bit random, but isn't that the beauty of it? i say full speed ahead with both!

I think that skellingtons would make a really silly postcard.

Speaking of which, good idea! You could make Tackleford postcards!

Luke said...

Yes to Skellingtons. Um Ahh Well Maybe Actually Nahh to more Wookiees.

kai said...

i think the wookie would look good as a post card or poster. i say postcard.

sarai said...

i would totally buy a skellingtons one. skellingtons are cool!

The wookie one is marvelous, but would possibly work better as a gloss-print poster.

The skellingtons one is nice.

LoopyChew said...

I'll jump on the bandwagon and say that as a tee, Skellingtons works better, and the current Wookiee picture is better as a poster. However, were you to do a side profile of the car and its passengers...

I would definitely buy a skellingtons shirt, but not a wookiee one.

Back when I started college there was this girl who always pulled a 'C' in out composition and lit classess.

Her writing was solid and nothing to write home about. She didn't understand why she couldn't improve her marks.

One day we were talking about it. And she said ", I'm trying my hardest I revise over and over again, my husband (who is an english teacher) edits my writing and I'm still just getting average grades."

This woman was brilliant. It turned out her husband was editing out all of the good stuff because he thought it was weird. He was a good sort. He just didn't get it. Sometimes you just have to trust yourself.

I don't think the saddest wookie is too weird in itself, but I'm not sure it would work as a t-shirt. I think it should be a billboard maybe. Or better yet, you could have a whole exhibition -- imagine the saddest wookie exhibition! Maybe I'm the weird one here.

I feel sad for the skellingtons, Shelley doesn't look like she wants them as friends :(

javier said...

'skellingtongs are my friends now' is delicious...who wouldn't like it?

Jason S said...

I don't think it's too weird. I just think it's one of those things that's a little overbearing for a shirt image. By the time people who aren't familiar with SGR hear the explanation of what the shirts about, it won't be very funny anymore.

Plus, I think the existence of the previous Saddest Wookie shirt sullies it some. You don't want to be the "Saddest Wookie T-Shirt Guy", do you?

I'll have you know I created a blog account for the sole purpose of saying "OH GOD SKELLINGTONS YES".

It seems to me that you have overlooked an important T-shirt market. Where are all the XXXXL shirts for those horrible obese Americans that like your comic? Talk about a walking billboard.

John A said...

I have laid my Wookiee demonds to rest. Skellingtons shall go to the ball. Etc.

As for XXXXL shirts, here is the deal. The designs are only 7 or 8 inches across. If I print one on a massive shirt, it looks like a thimble in the middle of a cornfield. If a person happens to get really big, that is their business, but I can't get an extra set of screens made just for giant shirts - I'd never make any money.

Mr A, keep up the good t-shirt work! Never before have I experienced such peaks of retail frenzy.

I have been viciously saddened by the fact that by the time I got to your t-shirt sale, the original Saddest Wookiee t-shirt had sold out. My girlfriend had promised to get me one and then failed. The only solution I can find is that I should leave her and live as a hermit.

I did manage to comfort myself a tiny bit by purchasing two other t-shirts though, so my formerly all-consuming pain is now down to approximately stubbed toe level.

Bring back the tea towels...

Tea towel 05 is gestating in my brain, it will land soon!

Jenna said...

John, I can see your point about XXXXL tshirts, but Bella does make babydoll tees that go above size L, and some of us girls are bigger than that in places. Boy tees look good on boys, not girls. That's all I'll say.

John A said...

XL babydolls are coming, this thing can happen.

Jenna said...

Goodie!

I suppose 2xl babydolls would be pushing it wouldnt it?

Abbey said...

I love the Skellingtons one, and would wear it, but I'm just not a giant fan of the bella babydolls. I wear my "Bears Will Eat You" shirt (which is rather appropriate when I wear it at work, out at a provincal park which has had a few bears hanging around this year), but it's just not my favourite material. I can be a picky brat when it comes to materials, I worked at a fabric store in high school. It is a fabulous design though, as is the Wookie design (though I do agree that it would maybe work best not on a t-shirt)

Chris said...

Skellingtons rocks so hard, i just enlarged the image and made it my desktop picture - FOR THE REMAINDER OF TIME...

sure I'd buy it :D

Bah. R Stevens doesn't know nothin' 'bout nohow. If it ain't pixellated, he should keep his nose out. Wookie rules, says I.

Help! The Olsen twins have taken Shelley hostage!

"XL babydolls are coming, this thing can happen."

Great! The perfect excuse for me not to exercise!

I vote Wookiee. Wookiee is top. Might get the Skellingtons for someone else.

Raj said...

I would surely buy a skellingtons shirt, if not for me, for someone!

gilbag said...

The possibility of the Saddest Wookie rolling down Sunset in that car is to good a draw for me. You must print it for purchase in the future in any form; towel, coaster, temporary tattoo...

sI used to print t shirts and sell them and id say that would be pretty cool.
