John Allison: Man Of Audio

I recently guest hosted on David Malki and Kris Straub's Tweet Me Harder, which was tremendous fun to do and hopefully fun to listen to. You'll learn a lot about me, sadly very little of it true.

If you can only bear to listen to something for five minutes, why not have a gander at my short interview with Joe List (of Freak Leap and The Annotated Weekender). Joe will tell you how to make a living from webcomics in very short order. Make sure to stick around right to the end.

My computer speakers almost didn't cope with this glorious interview.

Re: Tweet Me Harder

Mining the Prince of Sealand story is bound hit some comedy gold! I love "Reelin' In The Years" but I think it would be too hard to stand at attention without wanting to play the air guitar during that solo.

Heatherrrrr: when you only laugh roughly once every three weeks, it can emerge with some force.

Giant Days is off to a promising start. But it took me two days to realize that it had started. It's not very clear that you have to click the tiny "Giant Days" button to actually read it. The big Esther graphic actually made me think you were taking a week off before starting the strip. Does it make sense to either just run the strip on the main page, or leave some explanatory note underneath? Or am I just a bit slow?

Mike,

There is already an explanatory note underneath. And a further note in the news section below. And on the RSS feed. And on the Facebook page. Even if you ARE slow, you managed to work it out after two days. I think the reasons why I can't put it on the main page are probably self evident if you consider the relative shape, content and format of the two comics.

Hey John, I thought it was about time I got in touch (I'm sure you've been wondering and waiting, right?). I've been a long time fan of SGR. Reading the back catalogue got me through many a day at work, and I now find a morning coffee isn't quite complete without some SGR related content. So I thought I'd get in touch about bad machinery, throw in my two pence, as it were. I think the stories so far have been excellent pieces of work. I love the pace of the stories, that you're not just in a rush to get to the end but you'll pause to add some colour to the characters involved. It really has the feel of SGR in the way that there's an idea of the world going on around the characters. I'm looking forward to reading more. Keep it up, old bean! TTFN

John, I'm not as slow as Mike, but he's super slow. Could you maybe make the Giant Days image a link to the current Giant Days comic?

Plus, very funny audio. Your voice: so sensitive and fragile sounding!! You must be weak and girlish!

Loaferbob: thank you very much, very kind!

Bloggy: if you want to recode the whole site so that I can do that without breaking everything, you're welcome to! I'll send you the files. What's your email address?

As for physical strength, sadly(?) I am quite brutish and strong, my fragile voice on both those clips is due to being extremely ill (for Tweet Me Harder) and having thereafter coughed all day for a week (for "Round The Horn"). I am but one human man.

Oh my! I didn't even realize Giant Days was going on until just now, reading Mike's comment! I thought that was a "takin' a break" holder image too.

I better get on it.
