Monday is treat day

In a recent exchange of ideas in a secluded internet zone (maybe a newsgroup or a BBS, not sure), Aaron Diaz of Dresden Codak fame used his powers on the original pencils of this panel...

...and made this!

Obviously I was very excited about this and did a kind of ungainly victory dance. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! If you want to have a go with the same panel, you can download the pencils for it by clicking on the picture below.

Why not post your efforts in the comments for this thread? Do you have the skills of a powerful wizard? Or just want to practice? Have a go, Joe! Here's the original comic as it ran on June 30th.

I do very much love Mr Codak's work, but if his influence causes you to update your comics at the same pace he does, I shall be very, very sad.

Aaron sat me down and said, Johnny, you messed up. You're going too quick. So from now on I will be updating manually, which is to say, once a year.

Wow! Really nice! I really like the look of Charlotte in his version.. She just looks a little less air-headed.

For some odd reason, I got it in my head that you said the artist from Gunnerkrigg Court did it, and my initial reaction was that it looked nice, but different from their usual style.

Also, not once a year! *pout*

I cannot draw, but I will be interested to see how this works out... (I have only the power to write comics, and even then as an outsider and by the power of good fortune and the wonderful David Wynne).

I did my best with the tools I was given. The tools being my meaty fists.

OH No! I was hoping to be first, so I wouldn't already have people to make me look bad by comparison, but they're already here!

These are very fun to see. Makes me want to do it, and I'm not even an artist of any sort.

That was harder than I thought:

Here is my attempt:

My computer drawing skills are non-existent so I ended up just looking at the screen and doing my best on a piece of paper. It's not very good but I hope it at least conveys the admiration I have for your lovely comic.
